We live in a world of much injustice, corruption and lawlessness. Politicians line their own pockets trying to live above the law. Many of us get angry at such acts of immorality. Why? We know stealing, murder, lying and adultery is wrong because we have a conscience (con=with, science = knowledge).
Often when a crime is committed against us we are outraged, sometimes even angry at God. “for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.” (Matthew 12:36). So, the good news is, God does not ignore whats going on.
HOWEVER “Do you suppose, O man--you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself--that you will escape the judgment of God?” (Rom 2:3) The Bible warns that the very things we condemn others for are often the very things we ourselves are guilty of doing.
Have you stolen anything regardless of its value? then you are in the eyes of God a thief. Every time you take God’s name in vain (blasphemy) you offend Him. Every lustful thought is adultery to Him, every hateful thought is murder - His standard is high and you are destined to die and be judged. Justice for the crime is often subjective to the victim, so consider the fact that a crime committed against an important person is subject to a graver penalty.
Consider this “Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD” (Proverbs 12:22), when we lie, there are consequences far beyond our view that rise to the very God who gave you breath. Your voice was never made to do such things. Sin is also failing to do what we should “So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” (Jas 4:17) Psalm 96:13 tells us - “For He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.”
What can you do to escape hell (God’s prison for all law breakers)? No amount of good works can deliver us from the wrath (anger) of a Holy God. Is there any escape from eternal damnation? YES! There is only one way to be saved and have a right standing with our Creator - through His Son, Jesus Christ. “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15). We must “Repent (turn from our sin), and believe in the Gospel.”(Mark 1:15) trust in God and believe that Jesus took the punishment for your sin upon the cross. Then He rose from the dead, defeating death and will freely pardon all who come to Him.“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16.)
Jesus said.. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No
one comes to the Father except through Me.””(John 14:6)
